What’s turkey without cranberry sauce?

It would be like not serving gravy with the meal.

There’s no need to serve it out of a can though because homemade cranberry sauce is one of the easiest things to prepare with your roast turkey dinner. This one we particularly like to serve this Citrus Fig Cranberry Sauce with our famous Turkey Wellington.

Cranberry Sauce with a twist.

This recipe adds some sweet figs and balancing citrus and spice flavors to the sauce for special occasions like the Holidays. These traditional festive flavors give very complimentary yet not overwhelming notes to the sauce.

Give it a try with roast chicken and pork as well. If you make a large batch and properly bottle it in mason jars, you can enjoy it for months to come and it makes a nice homemade gift too.

Mission figs have nearly black skins when fresh. You can substitute regular dried figs.

In season, I like to use clementines in this recipe for the Holidays!

Are they the figs in the photo? They seem to be in wedges and not chopped as instructed to do. Do you rehydrate them in brandy or water? Everything else does not seem to have that wedge like appearance and I am wondering what the wedges are in the photo. Perhaps a small apple wedge! ?
