Chocolate Toblerone Pancakes

Chocolate Toblerone Pancakes - or make them as double chocolate pancakes by using milk chocolate chips instead. Decadent enough to be dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups flour
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 3/4 cup chopped Toblerone pieces or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Sift together the flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, sugar.
  2. Add the egg, milk and melted butter.
  3. Whisk together just until blended. Mixture should not be too thin.
  4. Pour batter by ¼ cup measures onto a preheated oiled griddle pan and sprinkle each pancake with chopped Toblerone pieces.
  5. When bubbles break the surface of the pancakes, flip them and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  6. Serve with your choice of whipped cream or chocolate syrup or both. Makes about 12 large pancakes.
