Mexican Spice Grilled Chicken Sandwiches

You can celebrate Cinco de Mayo all grilling season long, with these fast, fresh and flavourful Mexican Spice Grilled Chicken Sandwiches on Wonder™ Whole Wheat Buns topped with fresh made salsa.

  • 4 Wonder™ 100% Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • For the seasoning mix
  • 2 tbsp of chili powder
  • 1 tsp powdered garlic
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp coarse black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt


  • 1 small de-seeded tomato , diced
  • ¼ cup bell pepper , diced
  • 1/2 a jalapeño pepper , minced
  • zest of 1/2 lime , minced
  • juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1 clove garlic , minced
  • ¼ cup red onion , diced
  • salt and pepper to season


  1. To prepare the salsa, mix all of the ingredients for the salsa together in a glass bowl and set aside.
  2. Mix all of the ingredients in the seasoning mix together and sprinkle generously all over the chicken breasts.
  3. Grill over medium-high heat for about 7-8 minutes per side depending on the thickness of the chicken breasts.
  4. Serve topped with the fresh salsa on toasted Wonder™ 100% Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns.
