fresh mussels in the shell
( homemade, or good quality jarred sauce)
fresh chopped basil
grated parmesan cheese
Steam the mussels for 7 minutes in shallow boiling water in a covered saucepan..
Meanwhile heat the marinara sauce to a slow simmer in a small saucepan.
Drain the water from the mussels and remove them from the shells. Discard any that do not open.
Simmer the mussels in the marinara sauce or an additional 5 minutes.
Serve on toasted D’Italiano® Herb & Garlic Hamburger Bunswith a little grated parmesan cheese on top.
