Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ¾ cup fine unsweetened coconut optional
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips + 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

For the top

  • An additional 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips + 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Cream butter sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy
  2. Add the eggs, one at a time and beat well.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda (and coconut if you are using it)
  4. Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, folding to combine well.
  5. Fold in the 1/2 cup dark and 1/2 cup white chocolate chips.
  6. Spread in a greased 9 inch square baking pan and bake for 40-45 minutes at 350 degrees F. (325 for glass bake ware)
