FOR THE CHOCOLATE WHOOPIE PIE SHELLS
4heaping cups sifted flour
2teaspoonssalt
2teaspoonsbaking soda
1cupcocoa
2cupssugar
1cuphot water
1/2cupbutter
1/2cupshortening
1cupsour milk
2eggs
1teaspoongenuine vanilla extract
FOR THE WHOOPIE PIE FILLING
6tablespoonsmarshmallow fluff
4tablespoonsvanillathis is not a typo
4tablespoonsflour
4tablespoonsmilk
4cupsconfectioners sugar
1 1/2cupsshortening
Instructions
TO PREPARE THE CHOCOLATE WHOOPIE PIE SHELLS
Mix together shortening, butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Sift together dry ingredients and set aside.
Add milk, cocoa and hot water. Then add the dry ingredients.
Scoop large rounded spoonfuls of batter onto a greased cookie sheet and space at least 2" apart. An ice cream scoop works well for this purpose too. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until centers spring back when touched.
TO PREPARE THE WHOOPIE PIE FILLING
Add all ingredients in a bowl and beat until smooth. Then place scoop of filling between two of the shells and enjoy!
