It’s the Labour Day weekend and naturally barbecue is on the brain! Burgers are a natural choice for this great BBQ holiday.

That’s because they can feed a crowd quickly, easily and economically. Plus who doesn’t love a great burger?

At the end of a long summer of barbecuing, it’s always a great idea to switch up the regular beef burgers of the season with something different. Ground pork is often the answer on our grill.

Add dome great spicing to up the flavour and you’re really on to a winner. That’s exactly what we did with these dry rubbed burgers.

Seasoning the Barbecue Spice Pork Burger

Seasoning the Barbecue Spice Pork Burger

Smoked paprika is always the star of any spice mix in my opinion; it has become a real favourite of mine over the past several years especially.

The other ingredients in the rub are pretty common to the normal household spice rack. But, they all some together as a very flavourful compliment to the juicy pork burgers.

An easy Chili Garlic Mayo is all that’s needed as a condiment to these burgers along with the addition of some garden fresh lettuce and tomato. Add a little sweet salty, smoky deliciousness from thick cut maple bacon and it all comes together in one fantastically delicious pork burger.

Great buns also make a great burger and these larger size Wonder™ Ballpark Classic Hamburger Buns are ample enough to deliciously stand up to this substantial burger. This incredibly delicious burger is my latest recipe in a summer long collaboration with D’Italiano and Wonder buns from Weston Bakeries.
