Double Chocolate Cranberry Pecan Bars. Oh so gooey good! A twist on magic bars using white and dark chocolate, pecans and dried cranberries (or try dried cherries). They freeze well too.

This is a recipe of Spouse’s that really reminds me of a similar square that we always made during the holidays.
I remember those simply as “Christmas Squares” or “Magic Squares”. That were comprised of a graham wafer crumb bottom and then layers of chocolate chips, coconut, chopped walnuts and condensed milk.
In the end I think I prefer this version.
That's not only for the chewy dried cranberries that are great with chocolate, but for the toasted pecans as well. I've always preferred pecans to walnuts, since I was a kid.

These freeze pretty well too!
So, if there’s still room in your Christmas freezer, perhaps you could reserve a small corner for these decadent treats.

I love making cookies from Christmas, my only problem is I'm the only one in my house with a sweet tooth. Can you make a list of the cookies that freeze well. This way I can take them out on a as wanted bases, or as needed, when I have company. If these are all good for freezing, then thats awesome.
Do you think craisins would work in place of the dried cranberries?
Yes Kathy, they will be excellent too. Dried cherries are also a good choice.
